Adaptive clothing sizing guide
Finding the perfect fit for your adaptive clothing should be effortless. At Vilbers.com, we understand the unique needs of our customers, especially those seeking comfortable and functional wheelchair adaptive trousers and other adaptive clothing. This guide will help you confidently select the right size, whether you're a paraplegic or quadriplegic individual, or simply looking for inclusive fashion.
How to choose your pants by body measurements
We've designed our sizing charts around body measurements to ensure the best possible fit for our adaptive trousers. To find your ideal size, you'll need to measure your:
Waist: Measure around your natural waistline, typically the narrowest part of your torso.
Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips, keeping the measuring tape parallel to the floor.
Thighs: Measure around the fullest part of one thigh.
Important note on waist adjustment: Our adaptive trousers feature an adjustable waist. This means that if the size fits your hips and thighs comfortably, the waist measurement can fluctuate by approximately 20% and still provide a great fit.
Measuring from a seated or lying position
We know that standing to take measurements isn't always possible. You can comfortably and accurately measure yourself while lying down or sitting in your wheelchair. Just follow these simple steps:
For Waist: If you're seated, lean slightly to the side to expose your natural waistline. If lying down, simply locate your natural waist. Measure around this area.
For Hips: While seated or lying down, ensure the tape measure goes around the fullest part of your hips and bottom. Try to keep the tape measure as level as possible.
For Thighs: While seated or lying down, measure around the fullest part of one thigh. Make sure the leg is relaxed.
Don't have a measuring tape? No problem!
You can still accurately measure yourself using a simple household item:
Grab a ribbon, rope, or even a piece of string.
Wrap it comfortably around the area you need to measure (waist, hips, or thigh) while seated or lying down.
Mark the point where the ribbon overlaps.
Lay the ribbon flat and measure its length with a standard ruler.
Measure your favorite garment for a perfect match
For an even more precise fit, you can compare the measurements of your favorite well-fitting pants or shirt to the measurements of our garments. We provide detailed garment measurements for all our items. Simply:
Lay your favorite item flat on a bed or flat surface.
Measure the relevant dimensions (e.g., inseam, waist width, hip width for pants; chest width, sleeve length for shirts).
Compare these measurements to the "Garment Measurements" provided on our product pages.

The product itself is great. It already saved a bunch of my long sleeve sweaters or jackets from getting dirty or wet. It’s also designed with accessibility in mind. The only issue I have is that some of the seems are already ripping a bit but that’s an easy fix I can do myself. Overall I would highly recommend the product.

The trousers are very well made and the quality of the material and construction is good.
After following the sizing guidance and taking measurements, I ordered a 2XL for my father, who is a full-time wheelchair user. While the trousers fit, I found them to be quite snug around the waist and legs. I am unsure whether sizing up would have been the best solution, as the leg length would likely become even longer.
The adaptive features are useful, but I would recommend that wheelchair users pay particular attention to sizing, especially if additional room is needed for comfort, incontinence products, or prolonged sitting.
Hi Mark, thank you for your thoughtful feedback. We're glad you appreciate the quality and adaptive features. We've taken your comments into account and designed a new cut with more room at the knee and ankle, along with additional zippers, to improve comfort for wheelchair users. We hope this helps future fits!
Great customer service quality fabrics well thought out designs.
Been looking for comfortable trousers for a wheelchair user and this is the best design I have come across.
Being a 75 year old, wheelchair bound, man, I came across this company at the Veine exhibition this year specialized in clothes for wheelchair bound people.
I was very pleased when saw the design of the trousers, this was that I was looking for quite some time.
Overexcited I ordered the wrong type (small fit) trousers and change them for the above.
The Cargo 2.0 pant fit perfectly and it is easier to catheterize due to the possibility to open the front
